New Billing and Instrument Scheduling System Coming

Friday 09/21/2012

Shared Resources Administration is implementing a new billing application with iLab’s Core Facility Management software. This will enable us to provide better service by replacing paper-based invoices and manual data-entry processes. Instead, this web-based system will allow researchers and shared resources staff to manage service requests, billing and invoicing, equipment reservations and usage tracking, and reporting - all online!

The implementation of iLab will occur in 3 phases, beginning with 4 core resources (Proteomics, Electron Microscopy, Flow Cytometry, and Experimental Histopathology) and integration with FHCRC PeopleSoft Financial Management System and our Active User Directory. The remaining 7 resources will be deployed over 2 waves with an anticipated completion date of 9 months.

As this will mean a new way of doing business with Shared Resources, we will be communicating process and procedure changes, conducting user training, and providing on-going support to researchers and our core facilities.

iLab is leading the system implementation with help from Center IT Project Manager Doris Bartha, Shared Resources Administrative Coordinator Suzanne Giftai, and each Shared Resources manager. Center IT and the Finance team will lead the integration of iLab with FHCRC systems.  Questions or concerns can be directed to     Suzanne Giftai at sgiftai@fhcrc.org.
